A home for the everyday.
The walk. The weekend. The 37 photos of your cat.
Keep the memories. Let the folders take care of themselves.
- 01
Pick a folder.
Choose a source path on your NAS. Photos and videos in its subfolders are included.
- 02
Preview the moves.
Start in preview mode. Read the run log to see where each file would go before enabling moves.
- 03
Give it a time.
Choose a daily time outside your phone backup window. The package takes it from there.
SMALL PACKAGE. HONEST START.
Useful today.
Better with your input.
We’re building this with NAS owners who care about their photo library. Here’s exactly where the app stands.
The daily essentials
Installable DSM package, source path and schedule settings, preview mode, collision protection, and local run logs.
A friendlier front door
A clickable folder browser, preview table, run-history dashboard, and safe undo. These are planned, not included yet.
The alpha has passed local tests; NAS installation and mobile backup behavior still need validation. Settings use installer fields and files, and logs currently need SSH access.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Your library. Your call.
How are dates chosen?
The alpha first looks for an eight-digit date in the filename. If there isn’t one, it can use EXIF DateTimeOriginal when exiftool is installed on the NAS. Files without a usable date go into an unknown_date folder for manual review. It supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, MOV, and MP4.
Does it move or delete my photos?
Preview mode only reports planned moves. When you enable apply mode, files move into date folders beside their original location. Existing destination files are skipped, never replaced. The organizer does not delete photos. Undo is not available in the alpha.
Will it work with Synology Photos Mobile Backup?
Mobile Backup is the first use case we’re testing. The alpha still needs real NAS validation, including checking whether the phone uploads a moved file again. Schedule runs outside active backups and test on a small copied folder first.
Do I need to upload my library or buy a subscription?
The organizer processes files locally on your NAS, with no photo uploads or cloud account required. Pricing has not been set. Requesting beta access does not start a subscription or require payment.
Which NAS models are supported?
The package targets DSM 7 and uses a shell-based worker. Compatibility has not yet been verified across NAS models or DSM versions. Tell us your model and DSM version when requesting access so we can plan the beta.
